Yoga in Holbox2_edited.jpg

Mother Tree Learning & Wellness evolved after visiting the Redwood Forest in Northern California. During a walk amongst the Redwoods I learned  how gentle, nurturing, and powerful these ancient trees were.

In these forests there is a mother tree that is surrounded by smaller trees and it is the mother tree that nurtures and communicates through its root system.

As a licensed K-12 art teacher this felt familiar as I have taught high school students and coached educators at the district level for several years. I spent time listening, guiding, and nurturing relationships with my students and colleagues, and it was the seeds that I planted when I worked with them that I hoped would guide them later to find what they loved to do.

It is the mother tree that is a metaphor for my work now and where I have become rooted in sharing what I know through connection with others. I hope to continue planting seeds in educational spaces, the asynchronous classes that I develop, and through transformational coaching.

There have been many moments in my life where I found myself coming back to my yoga practice and weaving it in my life. Over two years ago I began to study the ancient philosophy and practices of yoga through my yoga teacher program. My yoga practice keeps me rooted and grounded in my values and beliefs, and now that I am certified as a 200hr yoga instructor it is my hope through a combination of asana classes, workshops, and creative experiences that community members will come together to learn, rest, create, and ultimately nourish their soul.
